I've Been so Busy I haven't Had Time to Post

Hello Friends:

It's been a while, and I'm sorry for that.  You see, I live in a house where my human mom and dad also have a lot of little grandkids who come to visit and sometimes come to stay for a while. While I really like them, they kind of turn my world upside down.  My mom doesn't have time to sit with me and play with me.  I also really need a good brushing.   She spends all of her time with the little human children.  I guess they need her attention more than I do. 

The human children really love me, and they pay a lot of attention to me, but after a while, they kind of wear me out and I have to go to my kennel  and rest for a while.  Right now we have five of them staying with us, but they're going home later today, and then things will get back to normal.

BTW:  One very important thing:  I had my birthday on June 6, and I'm now nine years old.  I'm still like a pup though! 

Oh...and another very important thing is this:  it's Father's Day!  I am very grateful for my human dad.  He walks me twice a day and is very, very good to me.  He makes sure I am well taken care of.  Sometimes he takes me in the car when he goes places.  I love that !  Happy Father's Day to all dads, both human and otherwise!

I'm a Princess no Matter What!!

When I look at pictures of my doggy friends, I notice that some of them look so shiny and smooth.  No matter what, my coat is a bit "ratty." But then I'm a Cairn, and I was bred to be outside fetching vermin from the rock piles in all kinds of wet weather. Water just rolls off my back! But my mom says that I'm a princess--no matter what my coat looks like.  And I guess I am pretty cute just the way I am.  I think I have good self esteem, because I'm not afraid to beg for almost anything.  I often get what I want, especially from my mom.  She's a pushover!

I get to go for a walk every morning and every evening.  My dad usually takes me, because my mom hurt her knee.  I like to go with him, because he stops and talks to everyone in our neighborhood.  That gives me a lot of chances to get even more attention from the neighbors and my dog friends.

To Know Me is to Love Me

My name is Sophie, and I'm an adorable cairn terrier who lives with my human "mom and dad."  They are pretty nice to me, but I am pretty nice too.  I'm also very cute, and that helps a lot if I should get into trouble. 

I like other dogs very much, and sometimes I get to see my dog friends at doggy daycare.  My human mom and dad have lots of grandchildren--almost 10 of them--and I like them too.  They're fun to run and play with. But I have a hard time not licking them too much, so I have to have reminders.  I never growl and bite, even if the smaller human grandchildren sometimes pull on my tail.  Then my mom has to give them reminders!

I have a happy life (I am 9 years old), and I also like to eat, so I'm a little chubby.  We're working on that, and so I'm on a little diet, and don't tell anyone, but my mom is too.
